I had no idea the Stasi did this…. As a child, I wasn’t allowed to visit East Berlin… The only encounter I had with GDR soldiers was when they boarded our duty train to check passports…. We were headed to Bremerhaven. I remember it being very intimidating, we were told not to make eye contact or speak to them..
Anyway, this was interesting..
