Very interesting documentary. I learned not only a lot about Dolly Madison but a lot about the history of Washington DC.

She died at 81… She ended up going from being very wealthy to stricken with poverty. There were several things in the documentary that I could directly relate to on a personal level.

She also reminded me of my mother and one of my siblings relationship. She (actress who played Dolly ) said often that she worried about her son… She Treated Him The same way my mothrr Treats And Talks About one of my siblings. She feels she has failed him and is constantly trying to make up for whatever she thinks she did wrong. It’s a never ending cycle..

It was sad because her son died 2 years after his mom. I wonder if he died of a broken heart? Life is so sad sometimes, isn’t it? Why must we suffer so?
