I’m Watching this now, it’s really bothering me how some people were treated during this era (some are still living in fear). It especially bothered me when I watched a group of 900 refugees, who were trying to escape the Nazis, get turned away from Cuba. The documentary started off on Pier 54 in New York City…. it discussed the departure of the doomed Lusitania, who was sunk by a German U-boat off the coast of Ireland in the Celtic Sea. It was interesting to see digitally enhanced color video shoots of private parties during prohibition, busy streets in New York City and people just living their every day lives…. all caught on film. I wonder if any of them ever thought about what future generations would think of their era, just as I often think of what generations after...
