I Just Watched “Escaping the Blitz” on YouTube

This is an oral history that was published last year in 2020… at least that was the date on the credits. I’m not entirely sure when these interviews were done, since the Pandemic has been going on for almost two years. It was sad to hear some of the stories. The people in this oral history were children during the blitz and survived. Some of them had lost their entire families.. Many had to leave their families and...

Youtube VS Facebook Shorts – Why is there Such a Dramatic Difference in Views Between Platforms?

I posted a YouTube short video of a candle last night and it received over 400 views… I have very few subscribers on YouTube and this is the second time I’ve gotten a lot of views on a short version video… I need to study this… I posted the same video on my Facebook and Instagram stories and got less than a handful of views. It’s a reminder that every platform is different… You could have a large...

I Just Watched “Berlin Wall Guards Tell Harrowing Tales Of East Germany | Our History” on YouTube

This was very interesting…. and also heart breaking at the same time. It came out in 1991, so not long after the wall had fallen. At the end, one of the guards thought he may have to eventually face charges from the West. One part that really touched me was a former guard who shot a father of two in 1962 came to visit and ask for the sons’ forgiveness. It was very very good, definitely worth a...

I Just Watched “The Tunnel” 1962 Full Documentary escape under the Berlin Wall” on YouTube

This is a documentary that chronicles three University students digging a tunnel underneath the Berlin Wall. It was financed by NBC. The students were given the equivalent of $150k for the exclusive rights to film them digging. It was hosted by Piers Anderton who was 44 years old at the time. He died 41 years later at 85 years old. Construction had just started in August of 1961, I found it interesting that a major network condoned doing...

Ceasars Palace, My Brothers and Domain Squatting

This may sound strange to some people; but I have always been fascinated with casinos, slot machine games and any form of gambling. This is strange because I am not a gambler in the traditional sense. Of course being an entrepreneur is considered by some a form of gambling, but to base a business move strictly on luck is just something I was never comfortable doing. My brothers, however were gamblers in the traditional sense… so it was...

How to Make Sure Your Blog Lives Forever – Online

Life happens…. if you forget to renew a domain or your hosting goes unpaid (for a million different reasons) your voice, your work and your blog can go offline in an instant…. Most hosting companies will keep your data for a couple months, but after the time has elapsed your data disappears, vaporized….. That has always been unsettling for me. I do quite a bit of writing and the thoughts of what I have to say living online...

Is coding windows software a viable business in the 2020’s?

One of the first ways I made money online was with software…. especially windows screensavers that I bundled in an .exe with pay per install ads and mass submitted to shareware directories…. Not only did I make sales from the Screensavers but I also got backlinks for my websites, which I placed cpa offers and Google adsense ads on….. I used it as a ranking tool… Screensavers were easy to build and scalable… Anyway, I was searching for...

I Just Watched “Aeroméxico Flight 498 Crashes In California After Mid-Air Collision | Mayday | Wonder” on YouTube

I’ve always had dreams of witnessing an airplane crash from a distance. I remember worrying about the people on board and those on the ground. I also remember worrying about being hit by flying debris. It’s strange, because my dream (actually a nightmare) is just like what the lady witnessed in this reenactment. Very very scary. When you see people go through something like this, it makes everything else seem so trivial.

I Just Watched “Park Avenue: Money, Power and the American Dream⎜WHY POVERTY?⎜(Documentary)” on YouTube

This documentary starts off with comparing the wealthy Park Ave with the part across the river, which isn’t as fortunate. The difference is astonishing. It then goes on to explain the differences as a result of a rigged, unfair economic system. They do this with the game of Monopoly. Players in the traditional game all start out equal… they each have an equal chance of wealth. A group of psychologists did an experiment where the game was rigged…...

I’m Watching “New York City rich and poor — the inequality crisis | DW Documentary” on YouTube

About 15 minutes into this documentary, they interviewed two sisters and their dad. The dad said they wish they wouldn’t flaunt their privilege on social media. He continued by saying “that’s their brand” He used the word brand several times. I thought that was interesting… everything is a brand now.. It’s nauseating to hear it so much.. His daughters were very dismissive and disrespectful of their father…. as he told them he didn’t like what they were posting...
