I Just Watched “The Century: America’s Time – 1936-1941: Over The Edge”

I’m watching a 14 part series titled “The Century: America’s Time” that originally aired in April of 1999. I added the series to my watch list in July of this past year. Luckily, I was able to find it on YouTube, most of the episodes are in there. One mam who was interviewed especially intrigued me, his name was Henry Metelmann, he died in 2011… He was on another BBC 2 Timewatch documentary titled “Through Hell for Hitler”....

I Just Watched “Escaping the Blitz” on YouTube

This is an oral history that was published last year in 2020… at least that was the date on the credits. I’m not entirely sure when these interviews were done, since the Pandemic has been going on for almost two years. It was sad to hear some of the stories. I Just Watched “It’s Not Unusual, A Lesbian & Gay History Part 2 (BBC2, 1997)” on YouTube

This documentary aired on the BBC in 1997. They talk with men who were thrown in jail for being gay. The first one they spoke with was born in 1919…. So he would have been in his mid to late 70’s when this was filmed. I’m still watching it, just wanted to take some notes. I will write more later.
