Now more than ever, I think it’s important to have more than one revenue stream… whether it’s your job, side hustle, rental property, or just whatever, I think it’s important. Chances are, the company you work for won’t save you if something happens you can’t work…. or just don’t want to anymore… you’re forever at their mercy…. or whomever’s you decide to trade in your time to in exchange for a buck. If you aren’t producing, you are of no use to them. It’s just the sad truth. Linear income, no matter how you get it, should not be your only stream. You’re taking a big chance if it is. Be wise and leverage your job and education to build your own revenue streams where YOU call the shots. I’m NOT saying you go quit your job… just have a backup plan. Just like I’m not cut out to be a nurse, doctor or laborer, not everyone is cut out for the world of business. I get that and totally respect those who don’t go into business for themselves. But this doesn’t preclude you from having investments or a hustle on the side.
Anyway, I’m always hearing nightmarish stories of people losing their a***es on business deals gone bad… Usually by buying into a guru’s course they’ve paid a lot of money for. You can learn this stuff (affiliate marketing, ecommerce) on your own for free. Just watch what other’s are doing. It’s not uncommon to build a 3K or 4K a month revenue stream from Amazon Associates in a year or so. Again, study others, you’ll see it for yourself. No, you won’t get rich off one site… but why not scale up?
It may mean trading in TV time or video game hour to build and study.. But it’s worth it. You’ll have plenty of time to do those things once you have a few solid internet businesses earning a healthy income. A good place to start is of course Flippa and Empire Builders. The latter lists specifically Amazon Associate driven stores as well as FBA. They both have their advantages/disadvantages. It’s well worth a look. This stuff isn’t rocket science… but you know what you have to do…… It’s the only way if you want to be more than you are today… financially or otherwise.
