In recent years, there’s been a major shift toward phone-based selling, especially for high-ticket items. Some websites even make it difficult—or outright impossible—to place an order without first speaking to a rep.That’s where AI is starting to change the game.
Many companies are now using AI to pre-qualify leads, so human agents only talk to the most interested prospects. I’m actually about to test this myself. Some AI-powered call centers can reach up to 1,800 people per hour, which is pretty wild. The technology has evolved quickly—just a year ago, there was often a noticeable lag when AI responded to someone during a call.
But now, depending on the platform, that delay is almost gone. It’s impressive how far things have come.
