This documentary discusses the temporary pause in Jewish persecution in order for the 1936 Olympics held in Berlin to take place.

Margaret Lambert (Greta Bergmann) a German Jewish track and field athlete was interviewed. Due to her Jewish origins, the Nazis did not allow her to participate in the Olympics. She then left Germany and vowed never to return.

She died in Jamaica Estates, New York, New York on July 25, 2017.

There is a German film chronicling her life titled “Berlin 36”. It came out in 2009.. So far, I have not been able to find a version dubbed in English.

Captain Eric Brown was also interviewed. His father was a former pilot and balloon observer in the Royal Flying Corps. After the existence of Luftwaffe was announced, Brown and his father were invited to attend the organization’s social gatherings. It was during this time Brown’s father took him to see the 1936 Berlin Olympics.

Eric Brown died in 2016 at the age of 97 in Redhill, Surrey, England.
