Moving Forward

Success in anything (whether it’s getting the job you want, starting a business, finding a partner, overcoming an illness or achieving a goal) is a lot like the old parable “The Chinese Bamboo Tree”. I’m sure you’ve heard it before… Like any plant, growth of the Chinese Bamboo Tree requires nurturing – water, fertile soil, sunshine. In its first year, we see no visible signs of activity. In the second year, again, no growth above the soil. The third, the fourth, still nothing. Our patience is tested and we begin to wonder if our efforts (caring, water, etc.) will ever be rewarded.

And finally in the fifth year – behold, a miracle! We experience growth. And what growth it is! The Chinese Bamboo Tree grows 80 feet in just six weeks!

The lesson for you: People who patiently toil and focus towards their dreams and goals, building strong character while overcoming adversity and challenge, grow the strong internal foundation to handle success…. success of every kind. Quietly, with focus and diligence go after what you want and never deviate. The path may change occasionally based on what you’ve learned. But always stay focused and on course. I promise you, something good will manifest from your efforts, it just has to. It’s a basic law of life and the Universe.

It also serves as a reminder to NOT judge anyone in life; you can never know with certainty where they may be on their journey or where they may be headed… or where they will end up. Respect everyone and their path. Not one of us are exactky alike.
