Thoughts on Living in a Hotel

I could soooo live in a hotel! I just couldn’t do it long term, with someone else, especially a significant other… We’d have to have separate rooms.

Some Good Things about Hotel Life

Your neighbors don’t stick around long. You get new ones all the time. So if they are loud, obnoxious or just whatever, hang tight, they’ll be gone soon.

You never have to worry about having clean towels, toiletries or even coffee, it’s all provided for you..

Lonely? Hang out in the lobby and watch people come and go. Meet people in the elevators and strike up a conversation… I’m an introvert, so keeping people at a distance is status quo for me… but occasionally I like to be around others and just chit chat. It was one of my favorite things about living at the St. James in Huntington, WV.

No Commitment. Stay a few days or a few weeks. Take it one day at a time. Find a better deal somewhere else? Just tired of the place and need new scenery? Easy, just pack up and leave.

I absolutely love the idea of living small in a hotel room. Of course, like everything in life, there are some downsides.. We’ll discuss that later.

But when I’m in Huntington, this place has been my go to lately.. I typically stay in nicer hotels but fell in love with this place!

I did a brief video showing the corridor…. the corridors and the lobby are what I notice first in a place.. After all, it’s what most people first see when they enter, so it makes total sense.

On websites, the hotel lobby is usually pictured, but seldom do you see the hallways. The corridors of a building are a big deal to me… You’ll see them in the video below.

Until next time!!
