As you know from a previous post, Facebook is paying content creators to make reels… It’s really pretty neat. I just happened to stumble onto it when I was repurposing content from other projects… I created some of them myself and a lot of them I hire others to do it for me…. It’s great for SEO… I’ve noticed a huge difference in rankings and traffic. But more on that in another post..
Anyway, Facebook gives you “challenges” to participate in… For example, get 500 views on five videos, earn $20…
A couple of my challenges on Facebook (reel monetization) all the sudden disappeared..I had one challenge that I completed for $20 and I had 8 out of the 10 necessary to receive a $100 bonus… Lasty, according to my creator’s dashboard, I also had $4 just for the plays..
It really pi$$es me off, even though it was not my original intention to make money with them on Facebook.. No explanation or anything from Facebook as to why the challenges were either reset or they disappeared…. Typical of a mega tech company…. Very very shady….
If you’ve ever advertised with Facebook, they are a nightmare to deal with… they really are. My experiences with their reel monetization program is a reminder how they can be…
I am brainstorming ideas why the challenges would all the sudden disappear..
I checked to see if I was outside of the reporting period… I was not…
I must mention, it took awhile after I was accepted into the program to even see the challenges… The entire system is poorly layed out and designed… So there is a remote chance they will reappear.
Like I said, it wasn’t about the money, it’s not enough to even worry about… It’s about these big tech companies that get by with being aloof and shady. Maybe they’re really not getting by with it though… Facebook isn’t doing so great… They are even reaching out to former advertisers they once banned …

Update May 19 @ 332pm – The Facebook Reel challenges are back… I noticed that a couple of the videos were not earning because they have watermarks… So I will have to watch that… You also have to be careful about static images… A few of mine are borderline… It also has to be your own content… not someone else’s… So I don’t know if you can use games… Like the flight sim or not… Those always do very well…
I have been scouring through the past 13 years of content that I’ve uploaded to Google Photos… I didn’t realize how much I have… I havnt even put a dent in what I can upload… When I’m done with processing and uploading all that is possible from Google Photos… I have a lot of tapes I can go through and extract one minute clips.
I’m working on somewhat of a digital assembly line to push these out… I like the idea of sharing and earning for trips I took eons ago..
