The queen pretty much has a residence everywhere in the kingdom except Wales. Can you imagine how much it would cost to maintain these places, especially considering their age?
One thing that surprised me was how modest the queen’s actual living quarters were… I’ve watched and read quite a bit about the royals and she seems to be pretty down to earth and not pompous like you may expect.
