Billy Haines was given an ultimatum by his studio that he give up his partner or lose his job. He replied “I will give him up when you give up your wife” That started the end of his career. Noone has ever loved me like that…. most likely Noone ever will… I’m perfectly OK with that….
It’s neat to learn about someone who basically lived a couple of generations before I was born. I’m learning a lot about gay history.
